AE Talent Solutions are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Education Manager to lead and develop education provision at HMP Wormwood Scrubs.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced education professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for learners and supporting rehabilitation through education, skills and employability.
You will be responsible for leading a high-performing education team, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and driving continuous improvement across the provision.
The Role
As Education Manager, you will:
Lead and develop the prison's education provision and curriculum.
Provide strong leadership and direction to the education team.
Oversee the day-to-day delivery of education programmes.
Monitor performance against KPIs, contractual targets and quality standards.
Lead quality assurance, self-assessment and continuous improvement activity.
Monitor teaching, learning and assessment through observations and audits.
Analyse learner data, including attendance, achievement and progression, to improve outcomes.
Manage staffing, timetables and resources effectively.
Support and develop staff through supervision, performance management and CPD.
Build effective relationships with prison leadership, employers, awarding bodies and other stakeholders.
Ensure education provision meets safeguarding, security and regulatory requirements.
Support preparation for inspections, audits and external reviews.
Promote education, employability and progression as key drivers of rehabilitation and reducing reoffending.
About You
We are looking for an experienced education leader with a strong background in managing teams and delivering high-quality education provision.
Essential requirements:
Degree and/or relevant professional qualification.
Level 5+ teaching qualification or equivalent, such as QTLS.
Internal Quality Assurance qualification, or willingness to achieve this.
Strong leadership and people management experience.
Proven experience in curriculum development and quality improvement.
Experience managing performance and delivering against targets.
Strong understanding of quality assurance and education standards.
Knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
Strong commitment to safeguarding, equality and compliance.
Desirable:
Experience working within prison education.
Experience working with adult learners or disadvantaged groups.
Knowledge of current education, skills and employability initiatives.
