AE Talent Solutions are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Painting & Decorating Tutor to join the education team at HMP Feltham.
Based on-site at HMP Feltham, you will deliver Painting & Decorating training to small groups of prison-based learners, helping them develop practical skills, knowledge and workplace behaviours while supporting them with their longer-term goals and aspirations.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Painting & Decorating professional who is passionate about passing on their knowledge, developing others and helping learners build the skills and confidence they need to progress towards employment.
The Role
As a Painting & Decorating Tutor, you will deliver high-quality vocational training that engages learners and supports them to achieve their potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering engaging Painting & Decorating training to small groups of learners.
Developing learners' practical skills, knowledge and workplace behaviours.
Supporting learners to work towards relevant vocational qualifications.
Ensuring appropriate individual training plans are in place.
Monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
Using a range of teaching and training methods to engage learners.
Adapting your approach to meet different learning needs and abilities.
Providing advice, guidance and support to learners where required.
Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Supporting learners with their longer-term goals, aspirations and progression.
Maintaining high standards of health & safety and safeguarding.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and other teams within the prison environment.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Painting & Decorating professional who is keen to use their trade skills and experience to make a genuine difference to others.
You will ideally have:
A Level 2 vocational qualification in Painting & Decorating or a relevant discipline.
Substantial practical experience and technical expertise within Painting & Decorating.
Experience delivering vocational training or supporting others to develop practical skills.
The ability to use different training methods to engage and motivate learners.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to adapt your approach to different learner needs.
A patient, supportive and professional approach.
A genuine passion for helping people develop their skills and confidence.
A teaching or assessing qualification would be desirable but is not essential.
No teaching qualification?

If you have strong Painting & Decorating experience but don't currently hold a teaching or assessing qualification, this may still be an excellent opportunity for you.
