AE Talent Solutions are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Plumbing Tutor to join the education team at HMP Wayland.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a qualified and experienced Plumbing professional who is passionate about sharing their skills and helping others develop.
Based on-site at HMP Wayland, you will deliver Plumbing qualifications up to Level 2, working with small groups of prison-based learners. You will help learners develop practical skills, technical knowledge and positive behaviours while supporting them to achieve meaningful qualifications and prepare for future employment.
The Role
As a Plumbing Tutor, you will:
Deliver high-quality Plumbing training and qualifications up to Level 2.
Plan and prepare engaging lessons and practical training sessions.
Work with small groups of learners with a range of abilities and backgrounds.
Develop learners' practical skills, knowledge and behaviours.
Adapt your teaching and use a variety of training methods to maintain engagement.
Provide learners with appropriate advice, guidance and feedback.
Develop and maintain effective training and learning plans.
Monitor learner progress and support them towards successful completion of their qualifications.
Maintain accurate learner records, registers and assessment documentation.
Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Work closely with colleagues and prison staff to support learners' development.
Promote employability and help learners understand how their skills can support future career opportunities.
Follow all relevant safeguarding, security, health & safety and organisational procedures.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a Plumbing professional who can combine strong vocational knowledge with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
Essential
Level 2 Plumbing qualification.
Substantial practical and vocational experience within the Plumbing industry.
Experience delivering vocational-based training, coaching or mentoring.
Strong practical knowledge of Plumbing.
Ability to demonstrate a range of teaching and training methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage learners from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Professional, patient and resilient approach to working within a prison environment.
Desirable
Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent.
Assessing qualification such as A1/TAQA/CAVA.
Experience working within prison education, FE or adult learning.
Experience supporting learners working towards vocational qualifications.
Don't currently hold a teaching or assessing qualification?
